DAY 15 OF MISSION: ARMENIA 2018
Today was a really fun day, we were able to attend a wedding ceremony and reception but in between were able to stop by Bumbumik, an awesome kids zone, started by a Christian couple!
Today was a really fun day, we were able to attend a wedding ceremony and reception but in between were able to stop by Bumbumik, an awesome kids zone, started by a Christian couple!
Although there have been many highlights throughout our trip, I’d say today was by far one of the most amazing days. The complete change in one man, the gathering of many strangers in a neighbourhood and an awesome church service put today at the top of my list of best days in Armenia.
It’s hard knowing that others can’t afford basic necessities, but it’s even more difficult when you witness it in person. On Wednesday, one of our visits was to a mother and her three children who live in a small space with no bedroom, no kitchen, no washroom. We all left their home with heavy hearts.
Today a local pastor took us to visit seven families, all with different stories, struggles and circumstances. Although I knew of the poverty in Armenia, I had yet to witness so much in a single day. It was a long and emotional day, but I am thankful to have met these people and will forever be changed by what I experienced. -Alexis Livingston
Today we met with two different families and had some wonderful conversations and prayers.
A look at our team’s activities on Friday… We continued with our visitations and had the opportunity to share the gospel with a young person who was moved to receive Christ as Saviour and Lord. Praise God!
We also had the unexpected opportunity to witness an historical moment in Armenia, as the new prime minister addressed the nation 100 days after his quiet revolution brought him to this position of influence. Our team was supposed to have our own gathering in one of the business centres in the same area but we rescheduled it for tonight (Saturday night – the live video we broadcast earlier). What amazed us was how tens of thousands of Armenians (including about a thousand who travelled several hours from Karabakh) filled Republic Square peacefully and without any aggression. What a great lesson to the rest of us!
On Thursday, our team did a few visitations. A highlight of our day was learning that a 17-year-old girl we’ve known for a few years had accepted Christ as her saviour just 15 days earlier. Thanks for your continued prayers!
Օn Wednesday, our team visited several households, giving us the chance to get to know them and to hear their stories, some of which were heartbreaking. In the evening, we drove to a church in Charentsavan where Pastor Joseph shared from God’s Word and we enjoyed fellowship with the believers there. Thank you for your continued prayers for our mission trip and for following along as we share these videos.
