Day 8 of Mission: Armenia 2016

August 17, 2016

Today we did a little bit of sightseeing along with visiting a family that my grandfather has now become friends with.

Day 7 of Mission: Armenia 2016

August 15, 2016

We drove two hours to Horom to visit the church we helped build, on our way there we stopped the car to speak to three women who turned out to be born again Christians. After the church service which my grandpa preached, we headed next door to a children’s school where they presented a certificate that showed their thanks for general help and the piano. The children welcomed us with prayer, singing and dancing. All the parents who were in attendance received the Armenian version of “God’s Workshop” (http://www.templebaptistmontreal.com/…). From the school, we went to the Pastor’s home and headed home later in the evening.

Day 6 of Mission: Armenia 2016

August 15, 2016

We spent day 6 meeting with a group of 16 people for a bible study, then headed to a church that was built in the past couple of years in a very poor neighbourhood and later went to a family gathering.

Day 5 of Mission: Armenia 2016

August 13, 2016

Today we visited families with very sad stories and troubling circumstances. All the people I have met are loving, kind and giving. They’re always so generous even though they themselves don’t have very much.

Day 4 of Mission: Armenia 2016

August 12, 2016

Today we visited different areas of Armenia, though there are beautiful parts of Armenia I was saddened to see that there are even more areas filled with poverty and destruction.

Day 3 of Mission: Armenia 2016

August 11, 2016

Day 3 was spent visiting families and their friends. Everywhere we visit the people are always so warm and welcoming and very eager to learn. We have many more visits scheduled for the upcoming days.

Day 2 of Mission: Armenia 2016

August 10, 2016

We started Day 2 by reading 2 Corinthians Chapter 2, which we all agreed was the perfect start to our trip.

We went walking around the area where we are staying and I couldn’t help but notice many elderly women begging for money or trying to sell flowers or fruits from their garden so they could try to raise any sort of money. These women do not have food, family or a place to stay. Many times the families of these women leave Armenia to start new lives in other countries often leaving elderly behind .

Day 1 of Mission: Armenia 2016

August 9, 2016

Our first day traveling to Armenia! We traveled around 15 hours, from Montreal to Paris, then Paris to Armenia arriving in Yerevan 8:00pm local time.
